A Brief History

Very little is known about this panoramic section of Arizona prior to the 1930s. The ranch passed through several owners until finally being developed into the community of Fountain Hills. A fountain, created at the center of the almost 30-acre lake sitting at the center of town and turned on for the first time in December of 1970, fascinates tourists and residents alike.

Nearby Saguaro Lake, one of the Salt River Lakes, provides ample boating and fishing amenities. Picnicking, swimming, and camping, offer the opportunity to bask in the sun while soaking in the natural beauty of the desert flora and fauna surrounding the area
